Southie Needs YOUR Help!

So I'm a film snob--I admit it. I usually only deign to see movies that I KNOW are good, one way or another, beit through my innate sense of movie goodness (which is surprisingly accurate, actually), well-regarded friends, stunning trailers, online reviews, etc. But I do know that I am missing out on the whole other side of the movie-watching experience. We're talking just pure entertainment--not analysis, overanalysis, predictions, prepredictions. I need to watch more movies that are just downright FUN.

So, here's YOUR task: what movies have you seen that are plain fun to watch? They could be from your childhood, from last year, from your secret life as an undercover lounge singer--I don't care. I just want your advice on some fun movies to watch.

Comments, please.

I know what you mean about being a movie snob. I am one myself. But personally, I have more fun watching good-quality fun movies :) My latest favorite was 40-Year-Old Virgin.

I'm def. not a film snob, so I can be of assistance. Wedding Crashers, Dodgeball, Old School. Do not miss those. "You're a big boy now," by Francis Ford Coppola--his dissertation--don't miss that one either. Breakfast at Tiffs. Two for the Road. About Last Night--A real cheesy keeper. Do us a favor, let us know if you watch any of these and what you think.

A good movie to make you laugh -- Saving Silverman. It gets better the more times you see it.

Netflix rules, no contest.

The Princess Bride - very fun and very quotable. More recently, I watched Bread and Tulips. It's an Italian film. Just a fun story about an under-appreciated housewife who runs away. Henry V (with Kenneth Branagh) is one of my favorites too, but not too many people agree with me on that...

Spellbound.

Mad Hot Ballroom.

They are absolute gems, everyone should see them.

Flirting With Disaster, when Ben Stiller was still amusing, and Tia Leone was extra hot and sizzlin'. Extra bonuses : Mary Tyler Moore and Alan Alda doing the really getting into weirdo characters.

But for real "fun", When driving I just tune into looney Conservative Talk Radio (Mark Levin, my personal fav), which just perks me right up! They are a laugh riot, and the callers are complete idiots.

Enjoy!
